Seven studios, one arc.

Each studio runs in short cycles and ends with something the student built, can demonstrate, and can explain to somebody else. Together they take a student from understanding the technology to standing in front of a room and defending what they made with it.

Inside a term

Twelve sessions, one shipped product.

The question we are asked most is what actually happens in the room. Here is a full Engineering Studio term, session by session. Every student walks out with a working product on a live URL and the ability to explain how it was built.

Session 01What the machine is actually doing. First program, first bug, first fix.
Session 02Thinking in steps — logic, loops, and breaking a problem into parts.
Session 03Build a web page that is genuinely yours, not a template.
Session 04Make it interactive. Forms, state, and what happens on a click.
Session 05Talking to an API — your code calls somebody else's and gets an answer back.
Session 06First AI feature. A real model doing real work inside your own app.
Session 07Computer vision. The camera sees something and the program reacts.
Session 08Data and databases — where the work lives when the browser closes.
Session 09GitHub. Version control, and why you will be grateful for it later.
Session 10Testing — finding the problem before somebody else does.
Session 11Deployment. It goes live, on a real URL, that a parent can open.
Session 12Demo day. The student presents, and the room is allowed to ask hard questions.

The ask

What we need from your school

It is the first thing every school asks, so here it is before you ask it. For the pilot term the answer is deliberately small.

Space
Your existing computer lab is fine. One room with power. We do not need a dedicated space.
Time
Two periods a week, one section. We work around your timetable, not across it.
Your staff
No teaching load on your faculty. One point of contact who sits in. We run the sessions.
Equipment
No purchase. We bring our own kit for the pilot term and take it away afterwards.
Cost
Nothing for the first term. No contract, no notice period, no obligation once it ends.
What you keep
Everything the students build, and the session plans we used to get there.

Safeguarding

Before anyone walks onto your campus

A boarding or day school carries a duty of care that a visiting programme has to meet, not assume. These are commitments in writing, from day one of a pilot.

Verification
Police verification on file for every person entering campus, shared with your office before the first session.
Supervision
No nextaiQlabs person is ever alone with a student. A member of your staff is present in every session.
Student data
We collect no personal data on minors. Student work stays on school systems or goes home with the student.
Photography
No photograph, video or student name is published by us without written consent from the school and the parent.
Your rules win
We follow your visitor, device and conduct policy as written. Where ours differs, yours applies.

Curriculum fit

Alongside your board, not against it

Nothing is removed from your syllabus and no board teaching time is given up. The studios run in the space schools already use for skill and activity periods.

NEP 2020 pushed schools toward experiential and skill-based learning, and CBSE now offers Artificial Intelligence as a skill subject. Both are the right direction, and both leave the same gap: a chapter on AI is not the same as a student who can build with it. The studios are where the building happens.

What comes out is portfolio work — things a student can show at a board viva, a university interview, or to a parent on a Sunday afternoon. That is the part one family repeats to another.

Questions

The questions that come first

Eight questions that come up in almost every conversation, answered here rather than in a meeting.

Our teachers don't know AI. Is that a problem?
No, and it is the most common worry. We run every session ourselves. Your staff member sits in as the school's presence in the room, not as a teacher. If a teacher wants to learn alongside the students, they are welcome, but nothing depends on it.
Will this take time away from board preparation?
No board teaching time is given up. The studios run in the periods your school already uses for skill, activity or club work — two a week, one section. Nothing is removed from your syllabus.
Do we have to buy computers or equipment?
No. We bring our own kit for the pilot term and take it away at the end. Your existing computer lab is enough — we need a room with power, not new hardware.
What happens after the free first term?
Nothing automatic. There is no contract and no notice period, so the programme simply ends unless you want it to continue. If you do, we agree terms then — after you have seen a full term of work, not before.
Which classes is this for?
Classes 6 to 12. The studios scale with the group — a Class 6 batch and a Class 11 batch run the same arc at different depth. We usually suggest starting with one middle-school section.
How many students can take part?
One section per studio for the pilot term, so the group stays small enough that every student finishes with something of their own. Scaling to more sections is a conversation for after the pilot.
Can we start part-way through a term?
Yes. The arc is twelve sessions, so it fits inside most terms with room to spare, and we can begin whenever your timetable has space.
What about student safety and background checks?
Police verification is on file for every person who enters campus and is shared with your office before the first session. No nextaiQlabs person is ever alone with a student. Full detail is in the safeguarding section above.

I learned to build. Almost none of it happened in a classroom — it happened at night, alone, from the internet. Most of my batch graduated the same way: degree in hand, still working out how to make something real.

I would rather a fourteen-year-old did not wait until college to find that out. That is the whole idea.
